How SLN Coffee got its green coffee EUDR-ready with TRST01Chain
Challenge
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires that coffee placed on the EU market is deforestation-free, legally produced and traceable to the plot, backed by a Due Diligence Statement (DDS). For an exporter whose green coffee ends up in European roasters, that documentation is now a condition of the sale.
SLN Coffee, a four-generation integrated coffee business from the Coorg region of India and the maker of the Levista brand, grows on its own estates and also procures from many estates and smallholder farmers around its base in Kushalnagar. Europe is one of its biggest markets.
When European buyers began asking for EUDR documentation and full traceability across the sourcing network, SLN needed every estate and farmer plot mapped and every procurement transaction recorded, so a DDS could be produced for each European shipment. Its procurement team was new to EUDR and unsure where to start.
Approach
TRST01 deployed TRST01Chain, its first-mile traceability platform, and paired it with hands-on training so SLN's own team could run the process.
