The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires that natural rubber and rubber products placed on the EU market are deforestation-free, legally produced and traceable to the plot, backed by a Due Diligence Statement (DDS). For a manufacturer, the evidence has to come from the raw-material vendors, and it has to hold together across every one of them.

JK Tyre sources natural rubber from suppliers spread across multiple countries. Each supplier had to provide plot geolocation data, each set had to be checked for deforestation risk, and finished production had to be linked back to the plots it came from before a consolidated data set could be submitted.

Doing this across a multi-country supplier base needed a structured approach rather than a document-collection exercise, and it had to work with the SAP system the business already ran on.
