How CEAT Tyres made EUDR run inside its existing systems with MeeS

EUDR COMPLIANCE
01

Challenge

CEAT ran its procurement and production across several systems. Vendor management, purchase orders and invoicing lived in a dedicated vendor portal, while production data, goods receipts and purchase orders sat in its SAP ERP. Natural rubber came from many vendors, each interacting through the vendor portal.

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) added a new layer on top. Every vendor now had to submit plot geolocation as GeoJSON and a Due Diligence Statement (DDS), each set had to be validated as deforestation-free, and a consolidated GeoJSON and DDS had to be produced for every shipment and filed with the EU.

Doing that manually, across the vendor portal and an SAP system, meant tedious and duplicated effort and a high risk of errors. CEAT needed EUDR to run inside the systems it already used, and to automate the workflow, rather than adding another parallel tool.

02

Approach

TRST01 deployed TRST01Chain MeeS and integrated it with CEAT's existing vendor portal and SAP, so EUDR ran through the tools CEAT already used.

  • Integrated MeeS with CEAT's existing vendor portal, so vendor actions and submissions flow in automatically.
  • Connected MeeS to the SAP ERP, linking production data, goods receipts and purchase orders.
  • Captured and validated every vendor's GeoJSON and DDS at submission, checking EUDR compliance.
  • Linked validated data across production stages to produce a consolidated GeoJSON and DDS per shipment.

03

Solution

With MeeS in place, EUDR compliance runs as one connected flow across CEAT's vendor portal, SAP and the EU filing system.

  • Vendor compliance managed inside the existing vendor portal, with each vendor's GeoJSON and DDS captured automatically.
  • Automated GeoJSON validation and deforestation checks on every submission, flagging non-compliant data.
  • Internal traceability linking validated vendor data across production stages in SAP.
  • A consolidated GeoJSON and DDS generated for every shipment.
  • Direct filing to the EU Information System (EU TRACES NT).

What’s next

With EUDR running inside its existing systems, CEAT can bring more vendors and product lines into the same flow, keeping every EU shipment compliant without adding new tools.
